Buddy Bowzer
Buddy Bowzer
Buddy Bowzer, the King Bee, came to New York City in 1967 with his high school bandmate, Jerry Nolan. Buddy came out with his first album, Maximillian, in 1968, with Moby Medina, below, playing bass, and Jerry Nolan on drums.
Buddy went on to be the saxophone player for The New York Dolls, with Jerry Nolan becoming their drummer. Tony Glover of Rolling Stone described his playing on Lonely Planet Boy as "the ice dog saxophone of Buddy Bowzer."
Buddy Bowzer has been a fixture in the Village scene since then, both in his own bands and playing with everybody.
Moby Medina
Moby Medina is a true New Yorker, having been raised uptown. He met Buddy Bowzer when he was 15, and played on Buddy's first album as bass player for Maximillian.
He has since played bass and guitar with dozens of the most talented bands and performers in New York City.
He currently plays Billy Cox, bassist for the Jimi Hendrix's Band of Gypsys, in Kiss The Sky, the world's greatest tribute to Jimi Hendrix. They tour the country doing Jimi Hendrix theatrical reproductions.
He also plays bass with Regina Bonelli, on her "Truth Hurts" tour; with the Tash Brothers; and with Jonny B and the Blues Blazers.
Gary Heisel
Gary Heisel
Gary Heisel lives in Hawaii, but spent 15 years in New York City writing and recording music at The Firm Studio, precursor to Wild Cards Studios.
He has Released three albums, "Now Here This," "Sounds Like Fun," and "Mixed Message," and is about to Release a fourth album.
Gass Wild
Gass Wild came over from England in the 80s, after playing drums with Chrissy Hynde of the Pretenders in London. He's been a mainstay in the Greenwich Village music scene since.
He is the lead guitar player and vocalist with his band "The Love Pirates," and has contributed to dozens of other bands.
He is currently playing drums and singing with Density.
Kenny Ark
Kenny Ark
Kenny started out in Hawaii, and met Johnny D in Lahaina, Maui in 1975, where he played at the Waikiki Bandshell, the Blue Max in Lahaina, and the Maui Belle, before hitting the road with Johnny. They ended up, after taking the long trail to Afghanistan, back in New York City in 1977, where he gigged at Max's, CBGB, and Folk City, and helped create Crabtree Studios.
Kenny then moved to San Francisco, where he has lived since, writing and recording songs with a relaxed sunny Hawaiian feel.
